Bio

Cooper James is a 21 year old country music singer/songwriter from Gretna, a small town in eastern Nebraska.  He started strumming on his dad's guitar when he was a little boy, and soon outgrew any instruction his dad and music teacher could give him. Since then he's been writing music and learning new songs by ear, but only in 2019 did Cooper begin to turn his lifelong passion into a career.

When Cooper was 16, his family escaped a tragic house fire caused by a lightning strike, losing nearly all his belongings but his first guitar, and ultimately moving off the land he was raised on. Cooper has taken that emotional loss and turned it into heart-string-tugging lyrics.

He learned how quickly something can be taken from us, and to appreciate what's important in life; working hard for what you believe in, spending time with family and friends... and enjoying good music.  His lyrics and voice have captured the hearts of his rapidly growing fan base, all who share the same love of and appreciation for family, friends and country music.

Cooper has had the privilege and honor of opening for National artists Thompson Square (twice), Keith Anderson, and Eli Young Band.

Cooper James has 3 original songs available on all streaming platforms; Teach a Man to Fish, Gravel Floors, and Never Gonna Give Up On You.

His covers often include songs by Luke Combs, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, Cody Johnson, Garth Brooks, Chris Stapleton, Jamey Johnson and many others.
